[HGC arrives by overnight train from Krakow at 0723 and has day free.]

Free day in Prague for in-town touring.

SUNDAY, 19 JUNE: PRAGUE (HGC Concert)

In the morning we will take an excursion to Kutna Hora, a UNESCO World Heritage village, including medieval churches, a mining museum, and an old mint.

In the afternoon we will travel to the village of Nelahozeves, a few miles outside of Prague, for the 5:00 PM HGC concert. This concert will take place in a beautiful Roman cellar of the Lobkowicz Castle, a space with a unique ambiance and acoustics. We will return to our hotel in Prague after the concert.

MONDAY, 20 JUNE: PRAGUE TO PARDUBICE

Morning free in Prague; check out of hotel. Afternoon travel to Pardubice, via Hradec Kralove, a royal fortress town of East Bohemia since 1225. Evening at hotel in Pardubice; dining on own.

TUESDAY, 21 JUNE: PARDUBICE (HGC Concert)

All day in Pardubice area, with excursion to Kuneticka Hora, a mountain top castle just north of Pardubice, and bicycling and other options. Evening dinner and HGC concert, with Bonifantes Boychoir, at Suk Hall at the Music Conservatory.

WEDNESDAY, 22 JUNE: PARDUBICE TO VIENNA

Morning departure from hotel. Bus ride to Vienna via Brno, the capital of the Moravia region. Afternoon stop at Mikulov – a wine area near Austrian border, with Roman remains – or Lednice – another UNESCO World Heritage site with a popular castle to visit. Late afternoon arrival in Vienna, check into hotel. Evening free for dinner and local performances.

THURSDAY, 23 JUNE: VIENNA (HGC Concert)

This is the day which will end with an HGC concert at the Lutheran City Church. Daytime excursions will be available both in the city and outside – like excursions to Esterhazy Palace (think Haydn) or the Abbey at Melk (think Name of the Rose, think Richard the Lionhearted) or Baden and Heiligenkreuz.  If possible, there will be a Danube boat ride on 23 June or 24 June.

FRIDAY, 24 JUNE: VIENNA

Friday the 24th is St. John’s Day, when many things in Europe shut down, although we will check to be sure what is open.

SATURDAY, 25 JUNE: VIENNA TO BUDAPEST

Depart in morning, with a stop at either Esztergom or Pannonhalma Abbey along the way. Short city tour of Budapest on arrival, then hotel check-in. Dinner and evening are free.

TUESDAY, 28 JUNE: BUDAPEST TO HOME

Depart this morning for home from Budapest, with arrival at most places in North America on the same day.
