For participants in the Harvard Glee Club Alumni Chorus' Nagasaki concert (and their family and friends) we offer two optional tours to extend your exploration of Japan before and after our September 8-14 stay in Nagasaki.
The pre-concert tour takes us to Kyoto, the historic city famous for its abundance of temples, flowers and gardens. We'll stay there four nights, including a visit to a unique art museum built into a hillside.
The post-concert tour offers the chance to explore the countryside of northern Kyushu and western Honshu, with a relaxing night at a traditional Japanese ryokan, an exciting two-night stay at the world-renowned Benesse Art Site on Naoshima Island, and a night in Osaka.
Whether you want an extra taste of Japan's beauty or a more comprehensive discovery of the region, Hanns Ebensten Travel (owned by Phil Sheldon, HGC '77), in conjunction with the Harvard Glee Club Foundation, offers these optional tours led by professional tour directors who specialize in Asian studies and travel.
