Circle the globe on this ultimate escape!

To celebrate 35 years of innovative and engaging tours for gay men, lesbians and friends, Hanns Ebensten Travel is offering a one-time Around the World Tour, circumnavigating the Southern Hemisphere.

In each country, we will first explore a grand city and its European heritage, then have a sojourn in the countryside, where we will slow down a bit and learn about the native culture. Most of our lodging will be at small, one-of-a-kind boutique hotels, and we will savor memorable meals in unique settings, enjoying the creativity of some of the top chefs in each region.

Most tour members will start in Los Angeles for our flight to Auckland and a stay at the fabulous Mollies Guesthouse, a boutique hotel overlooking Auckland Harbour. We will enjoy two nights at Mollies, then head to the rugged highlands near Rotorua to enjoy two nights at a premier eco-lodge.

We'll continue our journey in Sydney with sightseeing, culture, fine food and fun. Then we are off for a stunning night at Ayers Rock, and a stop in Perth for a harbor cruise and an evening of rest before our flight to South Africa!

After a brief stop in Johannesburg to change planes, we'll head to Cape Town, our home for three nights. We'll explore city life in beautiful Cape Town, then spend a day in the nearby hills, feasting on fine food and wine grown in the region. No trip to Africa would be complete without a safari, so for the country portion of our African experience, we will stay at a world-class lodge next to Kruger National Park, known for some of the finest wildlife viewing in all of Africa. We finish our South African exploration in Johannesburg, including a tour of Soweto Township. For those with a little extra time, we are also offering a two night extension to Victoria Falls, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip will take 19 days, but we have created it to enjoy the best of each destination in a relaxed and enjoyable manner. We invite up to fourteen adventurers to join us on this amazing journey!

Highlights of this trip include:

• Start the tour at one of Auckland's finest boutique hotels (with an opera heritage), then spend a day visiting a harbor island of art galleries and vineyards.
  
• Explore the New Zealand countryside with a Maori guide while staying at an award-winning Eco-lodge in the hills above Rotorua.

• Experience both sunset and sunrise at the iconic Ayers Rock in central Australia.
  
• Savor the fine cuisine and world-class wines of South Africa, and the night life of gay-friendly Cape Town.
  
• Stay at a modern tent camp next to a South Africa's Kruger National Park, known for its frequent sightings of the "Big Five" (lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards).
  
• Choose an extension to Victoria Falls for a visit to one of the world's most thrilling sights!

We don't offer every trip every year, and no departures are currently scheduled for this trip. Our home page will make it easy to locate forthcoming departures of interest.

Travelling Alone?
So are most of the people who travel with us. You do not need to pay extra to travel by yourself. Prices are per-person, and the single supplement applies only if you'd like a room by yourself.

Location: Starts in Los Angeles, California and ends in Washington, DC or New York (most flights not included)
