Ride across the vast provinces of China to the magic land of Tibet |
|
China-Tibet Railroad Adventure Starting in Beijing, we’ll tour the city including: a walk on the Great Wall; a visit to the Forbidden City; and a stroll through Tiananmen Square. Then it’s all aboard for the train ride of a lifetime from Beijing to Lhasa. Our three day ride will stop at several famous sightseeing spots along the route, such as Qinghai Lake, Hol Xil, Kun Lun Mountain and several photo stops in the mountains before we get our first view of the magnificent Potala Palace. The ride itself is sure to be an exciting adventure. For five days we will explore the rich and fascinating culture of Tibet. We'll ride into the countryside, visit the famous monasteries and have plenty of time to pause for photographs of the stunning mountain scenery. Our tour ends in Shanghai, with three nights at the Peace Hotel and time to relax and enjoy the nightlife. Due to the innovative nature of the new high-altitude train to Tibet, and other contingencies involved with travel to Tibet, this itinerary is subject to change. Should we not be able to take the train ride, we will make every effort to fly to Tibet, and follow our planned itinerary as closely as possible. There are risks to high altitude travel. Travelers should consult their physicians for information about their personal situation. Please see the FAQs for details about the altitude of destinations on this tour.
